There are 19 surfaces of the soccer shoe used to contact the ball.  These surfaces are involved in all of the foot skills in the sport, such as dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting.  References follow the pictures.  The 19 Surfaces of the Soccer Shoe™ are:

 Examples of the skills used with each of these surfaces include, but are not limited to:

             Front Toe (#1) – toe poke shot, toe poke pass, toe poke tackle

            Left Front Upper Toe (#2) – speed dribbling, dribbling fakes and feints

            Top toe (#3) – flicks, dribbling fakes and feints

            Right Front Upper Toe (#4) – dribbling fakes and feints

            Low Instep (#5) – stab chip, topspin shot

            Full Instep (#6) – instep drive, volleys, instep receive

            High Instep (#7) – knuckle shot

            Right Instep (#8) – outswinger from right side, sliced bending balls, outside-of-the-foot pass

            Left Instep (#9) – inswinger from left side, hooked bending balls, outside-of-the-foot pass

            Outside of Foot (#10) – dribbling, outside of the foot receive

            Inside of Foot (#11) – inside-of-foot pass, front block tackle

            Sole – Toe (#12) – dribbling

            Sole – Ball of Foot (#13) – sole of foot receive

            Sole – Arch (#14) – dribbling fakes and feints

            Sole – Heel (#15) – dribbling fakes and feints

            Instep-Face (#16) – chipping

            Inside Heel (#17) – dribbling fakes and feints; behind the (other) foot shot or pass

            Outside Heel (#18) – dribbling fakes and feints

            Back Heel (#19)– back heel pass
